Daughter of Eliza Lucas Pinckney (1722-1793) and Charles Pinckney (ca. 1699-1758), a prominent South Carolina attorney and state representative. Harriot Pinckney married Daniel Horry (d. 1785), owner of Hampton Plantation, and their children were Daniel Huger Horry (1769-1828), who changed his name to Charles Lucas Pinckney Horry, and Harriott Pinckney Horry (1770-1858), who married Frederick Rutledge (1769-1821).
